Let’s Finish our Class Set of Calculator

Current COMPLETED DonorChoose Project – Calculators

This project start on 5/13/15 and was fully funded on 5/24/15! Only 11 days!

I am very pleased to say that this project has been fully funded.  We now have a class set of Casio graphing calculators! It is crazy to think that just a few months ago I was talking with the Math Department Head and Program Coordinator about switching to Casio Calculators for their affordability and use.  In such a short time we have come so far and only by the support of others. Since the school year is about to come to a close, DonorsChoose will ship the calculators at the beginning of the next school year.

To all of my classroom supporters: thank you for looking at our current project. We have slowly been accumulating Casio calculators through various projects and grants.  This project will complete our first class set of Casio calculators.  You can check out this post about Stephen Colbert helping to jump start our class set of calculators.  My goal is to use Casio calculators in my classroom.  I would love to have enough (long term goal) to check them out to each student so that my students can continue to work and explore math at home.  The Casio calculator is half price of the traditional TI calculator that most people are accustomed to using. Im my experience the Casio calculator is easier to use and has more functionality. There is a learning curve (like switching from a PC to a Mac), but students will catch on quickly.  If you are interested in supporting this project please go to DonorsChoose to support.  Once you support you will be able to see the project through to completion on DonorsChoose and here as well. Please share this opportunity with family and friends as well.  I hope that you can join and be a part of the learning environment in the classroom!
